Cambridge University Scout and Guide Club (CUSAGC) is a student society, registered with the University of Cambridge, and a SSAGO affiliated club. Despite our name, we are open to anyone who is in higher education in the Cambridge area, and we currently have members from Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin Universities. We offer a huge variety of activities for our members to participate in – whether you like adventure, the outdoors, socialising, or running events for young people, we do it!

We usually run one at least event a week during Cambridge Full Term, as well as numerous trips away during the holidays. For the latest updates, have a look at our Facebook or Twitter page. If you are interested, then you can join online.

We usually run at least one event a week during Cambridge Full Term, and often a few trips away during the holidays. We also attend ‘rallies’ – camps once a term with other Scout and Guide clubs from universities across the UK.

Broadly, our programme is split into two parts – social and adventurous. On the social side, recent events have included

  • bowling, in Jambowlree
  • a board games evening
  • a campfire and bbq
  • craft evenings
  • pancake night

Recent adventurous activities have included

  • kayaking
  • climbing
  • archery
  • hiking
  • bouldering
  • and various trips away

Service Events

CUSAGC has good connections with both the Guiding and Scouting communities in the Cambridgeshire area and we also run several events specifically for local groups. Many of our members are leaders at local groups, although doing so is not a necessary part of membership (an equally, you can be a student leader in Cambridge without being a member of CUSAGC!). The SAGLO (Scout and Guide Liasion Officer) is able to help members find units throughout the year, starting at the Freshers’ Fair. We also hold an annual Cheese and Wine evening in October, at which local Scout and Guide leaders will be present and on the look out for new recruits! Please contact theĀ  if you would like to know more.

If you want to get in touch with us, you can send an email to the committee. Alternatively, to get in touch with a committee member individually, go to the People page.
